Eat too much healthy food good for you

Eating too much healthy food has downsides, nutrition experts say. Meat, chicken, fish and tofu contain protein, although too much protein can not only stress the kidneys and liver, but may increase the risk of osteoporosis, too. Some nutrition experts say there is such a thing as eating too much healthy food.

Overeating healthy food

First, there are no “healthy” and “unhealthy” foods. There are more nutritious and less nutritious foods.

And yes, eating too much nutritious food is bad for you - if you have already eaten enough calories to meet all of your needs, almost all foods that have calories can be converted and stored as body fat. Even if it’s broccoli.

So, if you eat significantly more calories than you need to fuel your body and its activity on a regular basis, you’ll begin to gain fat and of course the bodyweight that fat adds.

And when you gain fat, you tend to experience a thing called shitty death sooner:

"While fruits are nutritious, too much of even a healthy food can lead to weight gain." "The key is to remember to control the portion sizes of the foods you consume." Expert reported that overeating healthy foods is easy to do, but the same rules apply to healthy food as junk food.

So, while it's highly unlikely that you could over eat a particular nutrient, you can certainly eat too many calories. And this is where the answer to the question is yes, you can eat healthy but still eat too much.

When you eat, your body uses some of the calories you consume for energy. The rest are stored as fat. Consuming more calories than you burn may cause you to become overweight or obese. This increases your risk for cancer and other chronic health problems.

Healthy food still has calories. “Too much” by definition is “more than you require.” If you eat more healthy food than your body needs, regardless of form, your body will either try to store it as fat or violently expel the excess if you mean you’ve eaten more than stomach can hold.

How do you know you are eating too much of the healthy stuff?

You feel sick / bloated after eating a lot of something
Unwanted weight gain
You snack more than eat meals

It you feel comfortable, don’t have any weight issues etc, then even if you are eating a few tablespoons of almond butter before bed, if it’s not negatively affecting you then it’s ok! Remember what is  unhealthy and troublesome for one person will be healthy and work well for another!

Digestive enzymes are only available in limited quantity, so the larger the amount of food you eat, the longer it takes to digest. If you overeat frequently, over time, this slowed digestive process means the food you eat will remain in the stomach for a longer period of time and be more likely to turn into fat.
